FastBridge (formerly FAST) Predicts State Test Performance

The FastBridge research team at the University of Minnesota recently completed a study to evaluate the predictive utility of FastBridge assessments.

Both aReading and aMath results were compared to the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment - III. The results show that aReading and aMath independently predict student performance on the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment-III with 80 to 85% accuracy.

Criterion validity coefficients were consistently above .80 and diagnostic accuracy ("AUC") was above .85. The results exceed the requirements for top ratings from the National Center for Response to Intervention (NCRTI).

These recent studies will help refine benchmark targets for the 2014-15 academic year. The MCA-III has higher standards so benchmarks will increase.
